Eric Cohler

Eric Cohler is highly acclaimed for his distinguishing ability to fuse classical and contemporary elements. Dubbed “The Mixmaster” by industry editors, Cohler’s interior spaces display layers of unusual texture, color, and verve. His New York firm handles residential and commercial projects throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. In recent years, Cohler has expanded to include product design; Lee Jofa features his distinctive collection of fabrics, furniture, and rugs, and Visual Comfort & Co., carries many of Cohler’s original lighting designs.

Leading domestic and international publications Elle Décor, House Beautiful, Traditional Home, Town & Country, Veranda and The New York Times, feature Cohler’s work on a regular basis. Additionally, Cohler is often a writer for House Beautiful, Traditional Home, and the New York Times. He is also a contributing editor to the American Art Collector and American Fine Art. Cohler has made numerous television appearances on HGTV, Fine Living, CBS, NBC, PBS, and ABC’s The View. Sears Kenmore and Cohler teamed up for Country Escape, which tied with Martha Stewart for first place in the interior design category.

Cohler is proud to be included in Elle Décor’s annual A-List issue as one of the Top 25 interior designer’s in the United States. He is also included in House Beautiful’s issue on “America’s Top 100 Interior Designers” as well as to having been designated one of the country’s fourteen “best of the best.” The IFDA awarded Cohler with its Circle of Excellence Award and both Traditional Home and the D&D in New York named him Designer of theYear. He is the Sears Kenmore Interior Design Expert while his Lee Jofa "Tyler Crewel" fabric was selected by the President and Mrs. Obama for the White House family dining room.

A frequent keynote speaker on interior design, art, and architecture, as well as an adjunct professor at Hobart College, Cohler holds an MA in Historic Preservation from Columbia University’s School of Architecture and a Certificate from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. His book, “Cohler on Design”, is slated for publication in Fall 2012.

Tony Klein
A native of the Philadelphia area, Tony studied liberal arts at Temple University. In 1994 he joined the firm of Jed Johnson Associates, and under the direction of Jed Johnson, quickly gained a comprehensive knowledge of the design process. It was here that he was formally trained as an interior designer enhancing his sense of color, composition and learning timeless restraint of under stated elegance. He later joined the firm of William Green & Associates, working in architectural, landscape, interior, graphic and furniture design.

Tony's philosophy is that the needs of each client are realized by thoughtful, collaborative research into lifestyle, geographic location and architecture. In 2004, he joined Eric Cohler as a senior project manager becoming Managing Director in 2006. His background and experience have provided him with the skills necessary to produce consistently comfortable, sophisticated interiors. His practical nature and determined approach assure continuity and steady progress throughout the collaborative process. He adheres to the ideals of design integrity, using the highest quality of materials and workmanship and the seamless integration of architecture and design.
